Strong-rooms, Mr Tonna explains, are an extremely important security element for high risk or high value businesses, such as jewellers or banks. These need to be custom designed to match the specific requirements and security needs of the customer.
“These are intricate and complex builds and we sit down with a client and develop the designs and then work with the architect and construction staff to ensure everything is perfect. The mix of the concrete, the thickness and density of the steel reinforcing mesh and the protection of any working mechanisms all need to be carefully monitored,” Mr Tonna emphasises.
Mr Tonna explains that he has designed strong-rooms with a variety of features, including having thousands of gallons of water as an insulating layer between two walls of reinforced concrete.
